Silver Lake Golf Course

Good municipal course. Well maintained for what it is, views are really nice. Pretty short course but fairways are very narrow and all right next to each other, so errant drivers are often hitting into neighboring fairways and sometimes other groups. Clubhouse is well kept with a good selection of food and drinks. Staff is nice, carts are well kept. Good pace of play in the morning hours, but gets pretty crowded in the afternoon

I recently had the pleasure of playing a round of golf at Silver Lake Golf Course, and I can confidently say that it's a 5-star gem for golf enthusiasts. This course is a true masterpiece, and I can't speak highly enough about my experience there. First and foremost, the course itself is in impeccable condition. The fairways were lush, the greens were smooth, and the overall maintenance was top-notch. It's clear that the staff at Silver Lake takes great pride in ensuring that the course is in pristine shape. The scenic beauty of the course, with its well-maintained landscape and the Silver Lake Reservoir as a backdrop, made every hole a pleasure to play. The course layout is both challenging and fair, catering to golfers of all skill levels. It provides a perfect balance of wide-open fairways and strategically placed hazards. The different tee options make it accessible for beginners while still offering a significant challenge for more experienced golfers. I particularly appreciated the variety of holes, from long par-5s to challenging par-3s. The course's design is well thought out and offers a unique and enjoyable golfing experience. The staff at Silver Lake Golf Course were exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm and friendly hospitality. The pro shop staff was knowledgeable and helped me get set up for my round, and the on-course beverage cart service was a welcomed convenience. Additionally, the 19th hole experience at the clubhouse was the perfect way to end a great day on the course. The restaurant offered a delicious selection of food and drinks, and the view from the patio was breathtaking. It's an excellent place to relax, socialize, and reflect on your round. In summary, Silver Lake Golf Course is a golfer's paradise. With its stunning course conditions, thoughtful design, and exceptional staff, it offers a top-tier golfing experience. Only gave one star because that’s the only way I can leave a review. Group of 5 beginners playing in 2 time slots for 8 people. They kicked us off at the second hole for being beginners. We were on the first hole for a max of about 15 minutes, for all 5 of us playing. We were picking up our balls and moving it along so we didn’t take time. We booked two slots for this reason specifically because we didn’t want to be “those guys”. They drove down to us and the guy gave us pointers to help us. We took his advice and we were about to start the second hole. That’s when he pulled back up and said “you have to leave” “I’m just the messenger”. We ended up having to leave for a reason that didn’t make any sense. At the end of the day this is a golf course that is open to the public. Even if we took 30 minutes, kicking us out because we’re beginners is ridiculous. We planned our day around this were all middle aged men looking to enjoy our Sunday. 0 stars for a public course that doesn’t know the basics of business and customer service. And again..we booked an extra time slot right behind us to ensure our lack of experience wasn’t going to be an issue.

Easily the worst golf experience of my short career playing. We get to the starter and he just tells us on the spot there is a group of 57 people in front of us. It took us almost 3 hours to get through the front 9. Thankfully it began to rain on hole 14 so we just packed up and left. On top of that we planned on walking the course and when we show up we are told they don’t have push carts, so we are forced to spend 40 dollars on carts. The course was well kept and challenging, sadly it is managed terribly. (I can go all day here to be honest). The starter legitimately laughed at my shot on hole 10 which was a little rude but no big deal, just weird. Maybe I should’ve tried this famous meatloaf to make my day a bit better, never coming back. And for the icing on the cake, my hot dog on the turn was freezing cold.

This place is absolute dog water. Starters could not have cared less that we played a near 7 hour round. We told them it was slow and they sat on their thumbs and finger popped their own holes. Had to duck and cover at least a dozen times because they pack it so tight and people absolutely spray it. One stars is too many. Save your money and go literally anywhere else
